Detect ghosting on WhatsApp

Ghosting isn't always a slammed door: sometimes it's a trickle of messages left unanswered until the conversation simply fades out. WspWrapped detects who kills more conversations by counting the messages that go unanswered.

It's the objective way to know whether you're being ghosted or whether, without realizing it, you're the one leaving things unclosed.

What counts as ghosting in a chat

The analysis identifies "conversation enders": the last message of a block that gets no reply for a long time. Adding those up per person gives you the ghosting rate:

  • Who leaves more messages unanswered.
  • How many conversations died on your side and on the other person's.
  • When those silences happen most (days, times, periods).

Ghosting is not the same as being busy

A three-hour reply isn't ghosting if the reply arrives. Real ghosting is the sustained pattern of leaving messages unanswered. That's why it's worth reading the ghosting rate alongside response times: together they paint the full picture of how the conversation flows —or stalls.

How to detect ghosting

  1. Export the chat from WhatsApp ("Without media").
  2. Upload it to WspWrapped; it is analyzed without being stored.
  3. Check the ghosting rate per person and when conversations fade out.

Frequently asked questions

How does the analysis know what counts as ghosting?+

It detects messages that close a conversation block without a reply for a long period, and attributes them to the person who was left hanging.

Can it tell me if I'm being ghosted?+

Yes. You'll see how many of your conversations died without a reply from the other person, and vice versa.

Does it work for groups?+

Ghosting is clearest in one-on-one chats. In groups the metric is less precise because anyone can pick the topic back up.

Are my messages stored?+

No. The analysis uses the chat's time structure, not its content, and stores nothing.
